Dear trade association members from Lower Saxony, on the 6.11 our meeting of the members took place.
In the following interesting facts and information which was exchanged there.
The trade association has intensified the contacts with the land association Theaterpädagogik (LAT). There was a meeting on which both associations have fancied mutually, and it was decided, the common aim to bring together children and youngsters and theatres to pursue by an active exchange of information.
In September the school theatre of the countries took place in Nuremberg. The State of Lower Saxony was represented by a group of the oaken school of Scheeßel under the direction of Martin Crome. Because the originally well-chosen group had to cry off, rather at short notice the Scheeßeler group has stepped in. The piece "a summer night dream" which did not fit really on the subject "new media" was still a success, so that Lower Saxony was represented very well.
In 2010 we have offered three Workshops: Biographic theatre (Maike Plath), stage technique (Markus Lochthofen) and improvisation theatre (Michael Zach). The feedback was pleasantly good; also for 2011 other Workshops are planned.
Of the long-standing chairpersons of Sabine Peter an honourary membership was awarded on our meeting of the members as a recognition for her untiring application.
The next half a year is marked for us as a board of directors by the following plans:
Students of the field "showing play" lately move up over and over again to us and explain the problems of the crossing after the basic-constant course of studies to the schools. For the lessons at the schools these well qualified beginning teachers and female teachers are very important. We as a trade association see in the dialogue with them an important job and hope to be able to become active by talks with the Ministry of Education and the Arts supporting.
The subject "showing play" as an Abitur field seems to burn to some members under the nails. It is necessary that we get on this subject into an exchange of views. Hence, the board of directors plans to carry out a query first in the high schools which school DS offers in the Abitur to invite then to a concrete exchange of information.
We take part currently, moreover, in the working group "Educational conference" which initiates - from the land union for cultural youth education (LKJ) - encloses different culture-donating institutions. From early summer it is planned to organise meeting of representatives, ministerial representatives, possible sponsors, representatives of the economy, the towns and from schools to discuss new possibilities of the support of cultural education above all also within the scope of the afternoon lessons.
The next school theatre of the countries in Dusseldorf already throws his shades ahead. We hope for a big number in applications, because this year's subject "Theatre and Biography" might be believed so far that it hopefully appeals to many groups. You find the advertising also on our homepage. Application deadline is the 15th of May, 2011.
We can announce a Workshop with Maike Plath once more. The Workshop will take place on the 2nd of July, 2011 in Wolfsburg. More exact information take her please of our homepage.
The land association Theaterpädagogik (LAT) and the land union cultural youth education (LKJ) plan on the 3rd and 4th of November, 2011 a conference in Wolfenbüttel on the subject "Theatrical educational theory and School". Our trade association is involved as a cooperation partner actively in the planning of this conference. It is clear that there is discussion need on this subject, because more and more often theatrical pedagogues and female theatrical pedagogues act in schools. The conference deals with models of good cooperation, but also with the problems which can originate from the work of theatrical pedagogues in schools. We would be glad if the perspective the teachers and female teachers can be introduced by active participation in the conference.
